Sara Mathew is a Boston based costume designer for opera and theatre. She is currently studying at Boston University where she intends to graduate May 2026 with an MFA in Costume Design. Sara grew up surrounded by various forms of visual art, a background that is evident in every design and rendering. She blends her love for visual art with a keen eye for detail, creating costumes that not only adorn but also tell compelling stories.

Sara graduated from the University of Evansville in 2019 with a bachelor of science in theatre design and technology, and a minor in studio art. Since graduating she has worked at Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park and The Cincinnati Shakespeare Company.
